Summer Palace, the Imperial Garden in Beijing
The Summer Palace is to be found in northwestern Beijing and served the emperors to escape from the burning heat of the city center of Beijing. The Kunming Lake dominates a large part of the park and on its north shore you find the Longevity Hill. Apart from the Hall of Benevolence and Longevity, there are a few Buddhist temples. On the north shore, you can also find empress Dowager Cixi´s famous marble boat.
