Huanglong is located in the north of Sichuan Province, close to the Tibetan town of Songpan. Situated in a picturesque alpine like valley, the area consists of various pools, built by the water in the limestones. 

The water in the different pools is crystal clear and offers a nearly psychedelic experience for the eye. A wooden pathway leads the visitors in an approximately 4-hours hike around the valley. The most scenic spot is at the end of the valley, with a nearby Buddhist temple. Especially in fall - with the changing colors of the trees and foliage - the so called "five-colored pools" offer an amazing view. As Huanglong is one of the most popular sightseeing spots, visitors definitely won't find themselves alone in the area.
