During winter, snowsports is one of the most popular sports activities to escape the smog of the city and enjoy a few sporty hours in the sun. There are several small ski resorts to be found around Beijing, such as Jundushan, Lianhuashan, Nanshan, Badaling, Huaibei, Shijinglong, which can be reached within 1.5 driving hours from downtown. With Qiaobo ski dome, Beijing offers even one place for all year skiing. A bit further, around 4.5 driving hours from Beijing, located in Hebei province, Wanlong and Saibei can be found - the two largest resorts around Beijing. With 4 chairlifts and around 17 km of slopes Wanlong offers some quite decent runs.
Apart from Beijing, ski resorts can be found in many other provinces. Most famous is probably Heilongjiang with Yabuli and Jilin with Beidahu. More ski resorts are e.g. in Shandong and Sichuan. Even far western province Xinjiang offers a new ski resort near Urumqi since this year. More ski resorts are planned in Yunnan and Hebei.

Organisation of Ski/Snowboard trips, company events and incentives
Together with our Chinese partners, we organise any kind of ski outings, can provide Western and Chinese Ski Instructors and offer assistance for company events and incentives in and around Beijing and in whole China. In addition we can assist in equipment questions, as we are working closely with the Chinese Representative Office of Austrian top brand Fischer-Ski.
With over 15 years experience in ski teaching in Switzerland (there is one fully certified Swiss Ski instructor in our team) and organisation of several events such as the Carlsberg Pro/Am Race in St. Moritz, during the Ski World Championships 2003, as well as organisation of incentives in the snow for companies such as Credit Suisse, BAT, Clinique La Prairie, UBS among others, our team has a solid base on know-how and experience in this field and makes Hiddenchina to one of the most competent companies within Chinas skiing scene.

Weekend Events to Wanlong
Ski weekends will take place at the Wanlong ski resort, located 4.5 hours by coach from Beijing near Zhangjiakou City in Hebei. Wanlong ski resort offers the longest and best prepared slopes around Beijing. With an almost vertical drop of nearly 400 meters and slopes for intermediate and advanced skiers with distances of up to 2 km. The NOKIA Mellow fun park with jumps and rails offers decent skiing and snowboarding as well. With 4 chairlifts, the resort offers a total of 17 km of slopes. The hotel is situated next to the slopes and offers nice 4-star level rooms (subject to availability).
RMB 1430 per person in double twin standard room including top equipment, 1.5 days lift pass, 2 overnights in 4* hotel, 2*2 hours free ski lessons for beginners (max. 10 participants), during the rest of the ski day free coaching for intermediates on the slopes, Fischer test skis (if available), transport. Fischer Junior Race Camp Series 07/08
Fischer offers a series of races especially for children from 8 -15 years. No matter if Chinese or Expats, all are warmly welcome to participate. There will be 3 races in Huaibei ski resort, around 1 hour from Beijing and some more in Dongbei. Hiddenchina.net and Fischer organize trips to these races for the families, which includes equipment, race participation and transport. The exact dates for the 2007/2008 season will be announced later this year.

Ski Service and Equipment
As for most sports, it is very important to properly maintain the equipment. For skiing and snowboarding the base has to be waxed and the edges sharpened from time to time. This not only makes it easier to turn with the skis or the snowboard, it also makes it more stable, better controllable and especially when conditions are hard or icy, much safer. Fischer offers exclusively a ski service machine in Beijing, where you can let your skis and snowboards be prepared in a professional way.
