Swiss Economy Minister Mrs. Doris Leuthard with a Swiss delegation of economic leaders, July 12th 2007

During the visit of Swiss Federal Councillor Mrs. Doris Leuthard and a 40 head delegation of economic leaders and press, Hiddenchina.net Ltd. had the honor to arrange a visit of the Panda Research Base in Chengdu, Sichuan Province.

Special emphasis was placed on evaluations of a possible free trade agreement between Switzerland and China. Mr. Bo Xilai - Minister of Commerce of the People's Republic of China - and his Swiss counterpart Mrs. Leuthard signed an agreement stating that China will launch a feasibility study for a possible free trade agreement. In addition, Switzerland officially recognized China as the 3rd country in Europe, apart from Iceland and Norway, as a full market economy. Additonal focus was placed on promoting Switzerland for Chinese investment. Mrs. Doris Leuthard was followed by a twentyfive-headed CEO delegation and a fifteen-headed press delegation, as well as the Swiss Ambassador to China H.E. Dante Martinelli and his staff.

The Swiss Delegation very much enjoyed the visit, was deeply impressed by the high degree of professionalism at the research base and decided to adopt a panda for one year.
